How I handle your data.

Last updated 29 April 2026.

Who I am

This site, jamesstokes.com, is run by James Stokes, operating through Wisdom11 Ltd (in the process of being renamed LAB233 Ltd), registered in England & Wales under company number 7363602. Our registered office is 43 Berkeley Square, London W1J 5AP. Our UK VAT number is GB997026774.

For anything to do with your data or this policy, write to coaching@jamesstokes.com. I am the data controller for the information described below.

What I collect

One thing: anything you choose to send through the contact form on the Get in touch page. That’s your name, your email address, and the message you write. Nothing else — this site sets no analytics cookies, runs no tracking pixels, and has no advertising.

Why I collect it — and the lawful basis

So I can read what you wrote and reply to you. The lawful basis under UK GDPR is legitimate interest — you took the deliberate step of writing to me, and the legitimate interest is the obvious one: a conversation you started. I don’t use your contact-form data for marketing, profile-building, or sharing with anyone else.

Who else sees it (the third parties)

Three companies handle pieces of the path your message takes from your browser to my inbox:

  • Vercel hosts this site and runs the small piece of code that receives your form submission. They process your message in transit but don’t store it.
  • Resend takes your message and sends it as an email to my inbox. They keep delivery logs for a short period for operational reasons.
  • Fastmail is where I read and reply to your message. They store it as part of my email history, the same way any email does.

These three are sub-processors only; they don’t use your data for their own purposes. Each has its own published privacy policy and is contractually obliged to handle your data lawfully.

How long I keep it

Your message lives in my Fastmail inbox for as long as a business email reasonably should — typically a few years, possibly longer if our conversation evolves into ongoing work. If you’d like me to delete a specific message, ask and I will.

Resend’s delivery logs are aged out automatically by Resend (a few days to a couple of weeks). Vercel’s function logs are retained briefly for operational reasons and don’t contain your message body.

Your rights

Under UK and EU GDPR, you have the right to: ask what data I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected if it’s wrong, ask for it to be deleted, ask me to stop using it for any specific purpose, and lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk if you think I’ve handled your data badly.

To exercise any of these, write to coaching@jamesstokes.com — that’s the same address that receives the form, and it goes straight to me.

International transfers

Resend operates from the EU (Ireland) and the US; Vercel and Fastmail process data in the US, EU, and (in some cases) other regions. Where personal data leaves the UK, the transfer is covered by Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, as required by UK GDPR.

Cookies

None. This site sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics or advertising cookies. The fonts are loaded from Google Fonts via a standard web request, which doesn’t set tracking cookies.

Changes to this policy

If I change something material, I’ll update the date at the top and, if the change affects how I handle data you’ve already sent me, I’ll write to you about it.
